Bench Technician

Amotec is looking for a 3rd shift Bench Technician for a highly technical aerospace company. This position is located at our client's Mentor, Ohio facility.


Bench Technician Job Description


The Bench Technician will perform a wide variety of general shop tasks such as deburring a variety of materials, assembly and disassembly, and light machining. Additionally, they will be responsible for:

  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Use a variety of hand-held power and non-power tools to perform various shop operations.
  • Disassembly and assembly of turbine engine components.
  • Blend various metals, plating, and thermal spray coatings.
  • Drill, tap, re-drill holes. Use hand drills, reamers, chamfer tools, and taps.
  • Operate small machines (surface grinder, drill press, lathe, and Bridgeport) to manufacture or modify parts. Size and cut bushings, pins or other small parts for proper fit for installation.
  • Apply various compounds such as RTV and epoxy coatings to bond parts during assembly or to seal joints.
  • Bake or freeze parts for various assembly or cure operations.

Bench Technician Job Requirements


  • Technical high school diploma or the equivalent in a trade school required
  • General knowledge of standard shop practices
  • Must be able to pass basic shop measuring tests when required for skill area
  • Work in difficult positions. Stand and/or sit for extended hours
  • Move heavy parts (>50 pounds) using hoists, slings, carts, two-person lifts, forklifts, or other handling methods
  • Move less heavy parts (<50 pounds) with or without hoists, slings, carts or other handling methods
  • General knowledge of turbine engine component repairs preferred
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as scales, micrometers, and dial indicators, go/no-go gages etc. preferred
  • Ability to bend, lift, push or pull up to 50lb pounds
  • All applicants are required to complete a background check and drug screen

  • Compensation: $16/hour with $2-$3 shift premiums
