Amotec Inc. is conducting a local search for a Plant Controller. Our client is a leading manufacturer of building products located in the Greater Cincinnati area. Reporting to the Director of Finance, our client has an immediate need for an experienced Controller with manufacturing experience to manage the plant accounting function with a team of five as direct reports. Position Summary: The Controller, under the direction of the Director of Finance, is responsible for the Company's accounting practices, maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial statements and related reports. The incumbent directs and has overall supervisory responsibility of Accounting Department activities. The Controller provides all levels of management with financial direction and leadership as it relates to the achieving overall Company financial goals. The incumbent supports management development initiatives by improving the financial acumen of all levels of management in the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides financial leadership for the company through partnering with all levels of management to provide understanding of business issues and takes actions to achieve budget and business objectives
  • Selects, supervises, develops, evaluates and motivates managers and other personnel in the Accounting area
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial results of the Company, as well as quarterly and annual reporting and related supporting data as required by parent Company and federal, state and local regulations
  • Develops, enhances and coordinates company accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Leads monthly discussions on the financial results and ensure issues affecting the business are clearly understood by all departments of the Company; assists the organization in developing the financial and business acumen of entire management team
  • Conducts financial planning and analysis for the Company; provides annual budgets, quarterly forecasting and monthly projections of financial results of the company


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred
  • Five to seven years in a senior-level finance or accounting position in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting system or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (i.e. JD Edwards)
